Professor Ogba is currently an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Harvey Mudd College.
Bio: Professor O. Maduka Ogba earned his B.S. in computer science at Trinity University in 2011 and his Ph.D. in chemistry at Oregon State University in 2016. In graduate school, Professor Ogba conducted research with Professor Paul Cheong, developing computational approaches for investigating chemical reactions that involve conformationally and configurationally flexible molecules. Professor Ogba spent two years as a Robbins Postdoctoral Fellow (2016-2018) at Pomona College with Professor Daniel O’Leary. During this time, he used spectroscopic tools and isotope-perturbed molecules to detect subtle interactions within molecules that play key roles in their stability and reactivity. Professor Ogba worked as an Assistant Professor at Chapman University from 2018 to 2024. In July 2024, Professor Ogba joined Harvey Mudd College as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry.
